Located on the lower ground floor of Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, the Spa at Mandarin Oriental is a unique and luxurious escape into an oasis of calm, offering extensive spa treatments, fitness facilities, heat and water experiences and relaxation areas.
Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park chose ESPA for the complete concept and schematic design of this prestigious central London spa working alongside Eric Parry architects. Inspired by the spa's design ESPA created a new treatment experience which is composed of a cultural blending of treatments from the traditional civilisations of Asia, China, Bali and Europe and combined with ESPA's philosophy of health and wellbeing.
The design utilises the feeling of being underground by using Japanese reflection pools under open stairs producing the gentle sound of trickling water, dry gardens viewed from the shower within the treatment rooms and interchanging mood lighting in the Zen relaxation. The senses are stimulated through a variety of textures from crackled lacquer and Mongolian granite to horsehair panels.
The ESPA rituals were launched at the spa in August 2000 along with the new concept of reserving TIME.
The spa has countless visits from world-wide celebrities and won Day Spa of the Year 2001. ESPA continues to be the spa consultants behind this extremely beautiful and successful spa.
