18th Century elegance effortlessly connects with contemporary style at the new Maryborough Spa. Nestled within 18 acres of ancient ornate gardens and woodland this sensual retreat is a haven of nurture within nature.
Working with Dublin based architects Oppermann Associates the Maryborough Spa opened August 2006. The building has been designed to stimulate the senses, with gently swaying bamboo, the sound of trickling water as guests ascend a stone staircase to the oval pavilion with inviting framed glimpses of glistening green glass pieces, wood, grass, water and bamboos.
The guest's journey begins as they walk past the reception contemplation pool that overflows into the spa below where exquisite Thermal suites await. Vitality pools, laconium, saunarium, rock sauna, steam room, ice fountains, lifestyle showers and tepidariums re-energise, before guests feel cosseted and cocooned in the relaxation rooms. The full height frameless glass walls, allows the timber floor and dark tiled contemplation pool to meet as one, while guests listen to the waterfall gently cascading into the pool below.
The treatment room corridors lead the guest to 10 beautiful treatment rooms that have been designed to offer guests the latest ESPA treatments including Hot Stone Therapy, Purva Karma Four Hand Massage, Ayurvedic Rituals, Intensive Facials, Ultimate Body Wraps and Holistic Massage. On entering the treatment room guests are greeted with a wall washed with colourful lights reflecting the chakras, candle lights flickering in the beautifully designed feature bowl, dark wooden furniture floating off the floor and ritual chair. Guests can sit in the glass tea lounge pavilion centred on the waterfall with views to the theatre of lights and bamboo garden. The Finishing Touches Studio complements the tea lounge on the opposite side. The active facilities offer the state of the art fitness studio with Technogym equipment, indoor pool and heat experience.
