One&Only by ESPA redefines the concept of destination spa at the luxurious Reethi Rah resort located on a private island in the Indian Ocean.
Working with Jean Michel Gathy, principal of Denniston International, ESPA developed the concept and design to create a spa compound of individual thatched-roof pavilions linked by meandering sand paths in a 9,500m2 ocean-front garden. ESPA were retained throughout the build phase, staff recruitment and training, and the pre-opening stages of the project and will continue with a management contract of the Spa
The Spa opened in May 2005 and offers its guests the new ESPA treatments including the latest Ayurvedic Experiences, Facials and Advanced Massages.
Two spacious Private Spa treatment pavilions are situated over the ocean and consist of a double steam shower and ensuite facilities, along with a luxurious two person bath with a beautiful ocean view, treatment area for two people and relaxation area on the private overwater deck.
Each of the 8 individual villas have glass walls that open up to private ocean frontage as well as an outdoor deck for foot rituals and relaxation as and an outdoor shower and ensuite facility.
The Spa combines stunning black bandu chandi stone with ivory walls and warm natural wood floors with pitched ceilings. All the treatment rooms feature coloured lighting and floor to ceiling windows and the relaxation pavilions enjoy ocean views.
