A new concept in total well-being opened in Edinburgh in August 2001 in the form of ONE Spa, Europe's most advanced urban Spa covering 3800m and spanning 6 floors.
ESPA was brought into the project for the operational start up, recruitment and development of a treatment concept for "One" which merges different techniques and philosophies into a blend of treatments for modern lifestyles. ESPA continues to have an on going Management Consultancy Contract for the Spa.
The Spa is contemporary in design using light airy finishes with splashes of colour, combined with the latest computerised technology. Unique to the Spa is the outdoor hydropool, a stainless steel pool cut into the building with a cedar plank curved rear wall, accessed by swimming from the indoor hydropool. It has an infinity edge with glass panels to protect it from the wind and offers views of Edinburgh's skyline. Dramatically lit at night, the 35°C salt water letting off steam into the air is quite a sensation.
The Thermal suite is a carefully designed floor with a range of hot and cooling therapies, these include a Hamman, Aroma Grotto, Rock Sauna, Bio Sauna, Laconium, Tepidarium, Serail Mud Chamber and Lifestyle showers.
